They are now accepted by Kitchen & Furniture manufacturers and the Shop Fitting industry.
Our superior quality “Peerless Bamboo” ply/bench tops come in two sizes.
2440 x 1220 mm. Coffee or Blonde (natural) colour.
The most commonly applied coating is two pack urethane although other finishes are available.
The photo above depicts an example of a 40mm horizontal coffee sheet stained with Feast Watson Japan black then coated with two pack urethane created by Akyrah Kitchens in Gympie (only the coffee colour can be stained black).
As with any natural product we highly recommend testing with samples to determine the end result. The sheets are manufactured from multi layered bamboo strips with each individual layer cross bonded to produce a heavy duty sheet. This method of construction offers a board that is superior to other similar products in the market place. The coffee colour is achieved by steaming the bamboo strips that caramelizes the sugar in the fibre. The natural (blonde colour) is the result of the strips being boiled in bleach. Once processed all strips are naturally and kiln dried prior to gluing and pressing into sheets that are eventually multi layered to a specified thickness.
The selection of our bamboo ply sheets are available in multi layered – cross bonded laminated strips in thicknesses of 10-15 & 20mm.
On one side is the wide grain pattern on the other is the narrow strips where the bamboo pattern is not so visible.
We can now supply Moso cross bond sheets 2440 x 1220 in 20mm thick.
Finish: Raw fine sanded.
Style: Moso Cross bond, Horizontal or Vertical top and bottom layer.
