It has soft hair and beige brown fur covers brown/black culms which have hairy lighter cream bands circling the nodes. Excellent shoot bamboo. This is also a wonderful ornamental feature plant for a large property.

For timber, the walls are thick and it has good culm strength and durability. It’s reasonably cold resistant species, which can withstand minor frost.
